PASTOR
Paul H. Lewis, pastor, has more than forty years in the pastorate. During the 1970's, he was chosen as an Outstanding Young Man of America, and was added to the elite list of Who's Who in Religion in America. He graduated from Midwestern University, Wichita Falls, TX with a BSE degree, and he holds a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, TX.
He has served as senior pastor in several large churches in Texas, and now serves Second Baptist, Rosenberg, as a bi-vocational minister. In addition to the pastorate, he teaches in the Katy Independent School District.
WORSHIP LEADER
In her capacity as pastor's wife, Gay Lewis has filled many roles in churches--from the nursery to the music ministry. In addition to planning the worship service at Second Baptist Rosenberg, she teaches adult Bible study, and leads the children in Kid Jam Time.
She has worked as a professional photographer, and she has used her creative talents in design centers as an interior decorator. She wrote and produced two video productions: THE CANADIAN ROCKIES, and PSALMS FROM THE MOUNTAINS. Both productions have been sold in the international market.
PIANIST/MUSIC TEACHER
Jane Turner is a pianist, vocalist, music producer, and store owner. She first played for area churches as a student at Lamar High School in Rosenberg and continued her skill at the piano and organ for congregations while attending the University of Houston. She first played for Second Baptist, Rosenberg in 1957.
She bought the Rosenberg Music Store in 1971 and teaches voice and piano from her store as well as the Holy Rosary Catholic School. She also instructs a free music class on Sunday morning at Second Baptist, Rosenberg and often showcases her young students at the popular Rosenberg Opry.
Turner produces shows where she is owner of the Rosenberg Opry. She is a member of the National Piano Guild, the Rebecca Lodge, and the American College of Musicians. In her memorable career, she has experienced such highlights as singing with the Houston Symphony, and the dedication of the Hofheinz Pavilion. Turner was selected as the 2010 Community Builder Recipient for the Richmond and Rosenberg area.
ORGANIST
Cameron Diao is a nine year old protégée of Jane Turner. He is a Chinese American who was born in Sugar Land, Texas where he also lives. He lends his vocal talents to the children's choir at Second Baptist, Rosenberg.
MONTESORRIE SCHOOL
The Head of the Class Academy Montessori School is owned and operated by Joyce Stavinoha. She has twenty-six years of experience with Montessori and has owned and operated The Head of the Class Academy for 17 yrs-- five of those years have been at Second Baptist, Rosenberg. She has a staff of four and takes children--ages six weeks and up.
CHILDREN'S ASSISTANT
Alice Avila is a long time resident of Rosenberg. She was born in Rosenberg,attended Rosenberg schools, and now works for the Lamar School District. She is in her second year at Second Baptist Rosenberg as a Children's Assistant.
